About SEVIS
SEVIS (Student and Exchange Visitors Information System) was created by the US government in an effort to track and monitor all J-1 visa category participants while in the USA. Only your sponsor printed on your DS-2019 can register you. It is extremely important that you register in the SEVIS system at least 3 days after you have arrived to the US, but no later than 20 days from the program start date on your DS-2019 form; if you do not register, your status may be jeopardized.

Registering in SEVIS
You can register with the SEVIS system in two ways:

•  On- line

•  Telephone: 877.423.6462

You will need to provide the following information when registering:

- your name as it appears on your DS - 2019 form
- your DS – 2019 form number (located on the top right corner of form)
- the address & telephone number of where you are living in the US
- the address of your US host company / employer
- your supervisor's name and telephone number
- your email address
- date of birth (month/day/year)

 Failure to Register

All participants of the ICEO Summer Work\Travel Program are required to register to legally work in the US. If you do not register yourself in the SEVIS system your sponsorship may be deemed invalid and therefore, you will be illegally in the United States. This is extremely important. Registering in the SEVIS system should be done as soon as you are able to once you are in the US. Should you have trouble registering online, please call ICEO and we will take your information over the phone and register you.

 Changing Address / Employer

Should you want or need to change the address where you are currently living, please inform ICEO once you have moved and provide the following details: Address, City, State, Zip Code and Phone Number.

You may also submit it on – line or call ICEO. This must be done within 10 days of you moving .  

Should you want or need to change your current employer please contact ICEO via telephone or online at Changing Address / Employer with complete employer details: Address, City, State, Zip Code, Company Contact, Title, Phone Number and Email Address .

ICEO will complete a background check on the employer and provide to you email notification upon approval. This process may take up to 5 days. Should ICEO find the employer unsuitable for placement, we will inform you via phone and e-mail. If you choose to become employed by this employer your sponsorship provided by ICEO will be revoked.
