Frequently Asked Questions
Employment
How do I find information about the city my employer is located in?
ICEO maintains record on all employers. Please feel free to contact us directly.
Is there anything I should do before going to my employer?
Yes, there is. First and foremost you should pay very close attention to your Post Arrival Guide. This document will provide to you all employer procedures in detail, so that you may follow those procedures very carefully. As a general rule, however, you should first go to your temporary housing, get settled, travel to the social security office (if you don't have a social security number already), retrieve your receipt of application from the social security office and proceed to your employer with that receipt, your Employment Confirmation Letter and all forms of identification.
May I have more than 1 job?
You may have a second job, however, that second job may not interfere with your first job, originally provided to you by ICEO. You must fill out the following form for ICEO's approval of your second job (link - Second Job Notification Form).
I'm having difficulties with my employer, what should I do?
Please contact ICEO immediately.
May I change my employer?
You must pay very careful attention to this answer because it is complicated. Should you have any problems or issues with your assigned employer you must first contact ICEO. If a problem persists, ICEO will address the issue and come to a conclusion as to a possible resolution. Should you not follow these steps and simply leave your employer without any type of notification to ICEO you may be cancelled from the program and your status deemed "invalid" and therefore, you are illegally in the US.
If the job I was provided upon arrival is different than that which is contained on my Employment Confirmation Letter, what should I do?
Should this happen, please contact ICEO immediately.
