Departure
I'm about to return to my home country, is there anything I should be reminded of?
It is very important to remember to have the same documents that you needed to enter the country as to exit it (passport, visa, I-94 card, etc...). Please also remember that if you haven't received your last paycheck that you should provide your employer with your address in your home country, so that they may send it directly to you. In addition, you should have provided your employer with your social security number before your departure, so please make sure that you complete this task. Please tie up all loose ends before you leave, including any debts owed to anyone or any company.
Please complete and submit a mandatory ICEO Final Evaluation Form before departure.
Are there any restrictions on my departure date to my home country?
The main restriction on your departure date to your home country is that it must occur before your program dates end. Attempting to leave the country late will put your status arriving to your home country as "tardy" and hinder your ability to receive another visa in the future.
What documents do I need to return to my home country?
Please make sure you bring with you, upon departure, your passport, visa and I-94 card. These documents are necessary to leave and please make sure the proper official removes your I-94 card from your passport before you touch down in your home country.
